Quote from Quwamdeen Durojaiye on June 24, 2023, 9:23 amSUMMIT UNIVERSITY, OFFA HOLDS SPECIAL PRAYER FOR GRADUATING STUDENT
Instead of the usual ritual of celebrating passing out of students in many of our Universities with frivolous parties, Summit University, Offa today, Friday, June 23, 2023 broke that jinx by organising a special prayer for its graduating students.
This has outrightly and aptly demonstrated that, as a faith based University owned by the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, it believes in the efficacy and potency of prayers. It is worth nothing that, the special prayer for graduating student was first of its kind since the inception of the University.
The special prayer coincided with the jumat prayer which holds every Friday.
The Chief Imam of Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, Offa branch, Sheikh Alhaji Kamaldeen Akepe was on-hand to conduct the special prayer. In his pontification at the occasion, he congratulated the graduating students while admonishing them not to over celebrate their graduations from the University.
Alhaji Akepe also asked them to be worthy in character and learning so that, the education they have received will not be in vain. He quoted copiously from various verses of the Quran and examples of how satan known for his super intellect, became a rejected person on account of his pride. He advised them to shun pride and vain gloriousness as they go into the world.
Alhaji Akepe in his sermon also charged the students to be worthy ambassadors of the University in their conduct and wherever they find themselves.Alhaji Akepe eulogised the Vice-Chancellor for organising the special prayer and lauded him for the superlative ways he has been piloting the affairs of the University.
The highlight of the occasion was a special recitation from the Holy Quran and special prayers for the graduating students. In his short address, the Public Relations Officer of the UnFOR attending the prayer session.
He informed the students that the Vice-Chancellor has decreed that, there should be no party within and outside the campus. He warned that, any contravention of this order would attract comeuppance.
