Erinijesha waterfall is a tourist located in Erin Oke, Oriade local government Area in Erin Ijesha, Osun State, Southwest Nigeria. Erin ijesha waterfall also known as (Olumirin waterfall). The name Erin ijesha can be loosely translated as the elephant of ijesha.
At the top of the hill on the seventh floor is the source of the waterfall and the ancient of Abake village. Erin ijesha is a seven step waterfall in Osun state. Very attractive and also of nature’s wonders, the glimpse of the water in-between the hills are cascading from a height of over 20meters. It is an awe-inspiring fall in its own unique sense as its seven waterfalls cascaded upon each other. It takes an average healthy man about one hour 30minutes to climb.

Erin ijesha waterfall was founded circa 1140AD by the great Akinla, the first daughter and princess of Oduduwa, father of the yorubas, who left ile-ife in the 12 century during tumultuous years that witness the disperal of all heirs and heiresses of oduduwa. The name Olumirin waterfall was given to the tourist attraction by Akinla, which means the fall features seven levels, on top of which Abake is located. Abake village shared a boundary with Efon-Ijesha in Ekiti state.
The Erin-Ijesha waterfall is a popular excursion point for schools around the neighborhood and travelers all over the world. It has parking space, the first entrance is captivating with a great beautiful views of trees and the atmosphere very conducive.it’s a place of mind calming and each hills steps are well designated by Artwork from the first hill step to the last seventh hill, guiding by the tourist guards embracing your moments with an amazing mind-blowing story. The natives regard the waterfall as a sacred site and means of purifying their souls. Festivals were formerly celebrated and sacrifices performed at the site. The olumirin waterfall is one of natural wonder’s of the world at all the levels. The view’s are spectacular, you will also find the water refreshing.
However, the seventh level is somewhat difficult to climb, as you will find even the third level equal to trudging the Snow White sharp Mount Everest, The seventh fall is the most wonderful, as you will be at the peak of the waterfall.
The 7th fall also serves as a settlement for ancient inhabitants for a numbers of years.the cascading waterfall amidst the soaring mountains gives a blend of wildlife with tranquility.
It should be noted that the second cascade is the most gigantic of all, with the waters diving a 40 m — high cliff.the copious plunge is the most spectacular in the rainy season when the stream channel is at its flooding levels.it’s plunge pool forms a shallow swimming pool for visitors at the site who are lucky and brave enough to get to the second fall.it’s one of the very few water bodies where prawn’s thrive and which has some feel of wild life.

The waterfall is open from 8am to 6pm daily. So tourist can visit any day of the week.entry fee to Erinijesha cost 1000 Naira per adult and 500 Naira for children.

The whole scenery is fascinating and idyllic with an atmosphere temperature ranging 30-34oC coupled with the fact that the location is enclosed within the soothing hands of nature, the breeze at the site of the waterfalls is cool and refreshing.

Erin-Ijesha waterfalls offers everything the tourist needs to satisfy his/her hunger: From happiness to safety… And of course, inspiration to goodness.
