The Asiwaju Grassroot Talk was founded to ensure that the dividends of good governance percolate down the socio-economic ladder of the society, influencing good policies by the government for the common good of the populace, as well as taking advantage of every electoral cycle to ensure the best party (APC) and best hands are entrusted with the business of government in Lagos State and Nigeria. AGT hosts an evangelical seminar towards enlightening students about voting fortunes and raising active voters above 50% the seminar is the first ever official political campaign in a University. Delivering the welcome address, the Director of the Student Affairs, Comrade Kappo Olawale Samuel thanked the Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu for the great works done in Lagos. He also pleaded the need for more so as to effectively cater for the welfare of students in Lagos. Addressing the officials of the Lagos State Government, Comrade Olawale Samuel assured the officials that “this population that you're seeing here are eligible voters". The Vice Chancellor, represented by Mr. Emmanuel Adebayo, the Librarian of the University who delivered a speech on behalf of the Vice Chancellor. The opening remark was delivered by the director General of AGT Director Abdulahakeem Adetugbobo after which a documentary was played to the audience showing the vision statement of Asiwaju Grassroot talk, the mission of AGT, echoes from AGT launch at Oregun which had the presence of the state government and other top officials of the All progressive congress, the footprint of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu were also mentioned wherein the audience were fed with his achievements which were the creation of LASMA, LAMATA, IRS, Security trust and many more. Part of these notable achievements power plant built by him, ensured efficient health care system, Lekki-Ikoyi bridge, built Eko Atlantic City, Raised Lagos IGR from #500M to #60B, Lekki Free trade zone, creation of 37 LCDAs which was aimed towards taking the government to the grassroots to mention but few. Further, achievements of Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu were also shown in the documentary which were; investment in youths, A day governor, investment in agriculture, education, housing and urban development, security & governance, health & environment, transportation and many more. The guest speaker, Honourable Owolabi Falani educated the audience on the reasons why they should support Asiwaju, and many other provisions that the APC government had made for the youth and Nigerians at large he implored them to read through the manifesto of the party to effect this. The AGT campus captain in person of Abdulhameed Tiamiyu popularly known as Blessed hands presented the AGT Nugget in a short video of about five minutes.The Lagos state labour congress chairman, chief Mrs Akinsanmi delivered her speech as well, and she subsequently thanked the organisers of the August political evangelical seminar for a job well done. The symposium ended with a dance and rap contest amongst LASUites and LASUEDites.</blockquote><br>
